Stonewalk-Japan update July 12, 2005
by Dot Walsh, The Peace Abbey

I imagined that this would be a very difficult journey with the language and custom differences but instead this has become a journey of faith. We don't know where we are going each day, we don't know the route, we don't know what or where we will eat and we don't know where we are spending the night. However there is nothing to fear for the Japanese know it all and have made such good preparations that we have learned to let them point the way except in certain instances when with their enthusiasm they try to start without a person on the brake.

People come back again and again, share food and laughter, take care of one anothers blisters and sores, come together for silent moments of prayer at the stone and now tonight have arranged for a chiropractor to take care of our aches. Stonewalkers does this sound familiar?

We all send our love to you and our messages from the Hibakusha who meet us along the way….NO MORE WAR.

Peace and Love
